In Tuscany we have endless choices so we have had to be quite selective with our choice. We have selected our Top 5 and subdivided them into sections which we feel best represent your journey. We will be reviewing this on a quarterly basis as we progress into 2012 however the choices are based on our own recommendations and choices.

Where is Tuscany?

Located in central Italy and covering an area of under 23,000 square kilometres. It is a very large region and very different and varied.

How do I get there?

Tuscany has 2 airports, Florence airport which is located in a valley and is very close to the city or Pisa which is a little further away. Both airports are well served and we would suggest that if you decide to have your ceremony outside a town or village, then hiring a car is worth consideration. Again subject to where you end up staying you could also fly into Bologna or Rome. The other great thing about Tuscany is that you can get married here and also have your honeymoon here, due to the great variation which exists in this fabulous Italian region.

The best time to get married here?

Any time of year really however we would suggest that if you are having a countryside style wedding and are intent on doing everything outside that you perhaps consider Spring and Summer and early Autumn, however if you are getting married in a town or a village, somewhere like Siena or San Gimignano then late Autumn and Winter could be possible.

We have our own top town halls in Tuscany however we would like to concentrate on options which are available to you for weddings outside the confines of the town hall. As discussed in Italian ceremony options this wedding type is more expensive and this is due to its total exclusivity.

A Wedding in a Self Catering Villa

The beauty of this wedding type is that it is so private, exclusive and intimate. You will need to hire the villa for a total of 7 nights from Saturday to Saturday and at the villa it is possible to celebrate your Italian ceremony which can be either civil or Protestant and also your wedding reception.

Our Special Villa of the Month

Is this beautiful villa which can accommodate up to 20 persons. Close to the villa is another property which can also accommodate quite a large number so you and all your guests can enjoy being together. This is an early 16th century villa in the Tuscan countryside near the city of Arezzo, with beautiful views of the valley and Lucignano. Meticulous renovation work which took one year was carried out by the present owners and restored the property to its ancient charm and splendour. A private location with an onsite chapel.

A Wedding in a Tuscan Castle

When thinking of a Tuscan castle think Tuscan and not British. Tuscan castles are a little like our version of the grand Manor house, Sarah-Beeney style. Tuscan castles are quite small in scale and can vary and look like fortresses, walled towns or hamlets. Some of the castles can be hired on a daily basis while others offer rooms and apartments and to have your ceremony and reception here you will also need to stay here.

We start our castle journey with a Florentine Fairytale which is in the heart of the Florentine countryside and is just utterly mind blowing. It is not possible to stay here and the property can only be rented on a daily basis. Our next castle is further south and is truly rustic. We now head off the beaten track and find this wonderful location nestled comfortably in the Tuscan countryside. This option is true luxury and is ideal for intimate style weddings.

Our next Italian castle which has a worn feel which is truly a la mode in 2012 is this wonderful castle which offers a range of apartments which can only be rented on a Saturday to Saturday basis but also provides a range of rooms in the castle. There is also a chapel here where protestant ceremonies can be held. Last but not least is another luxurious destination just waiting to be discovered.

This is all about being part of a farmstead style environment. You will be based right in the heart of the countryside and accommodation is available in apartments or in rooms and it is possible to get married on the premises and enjoy your country style reception on site. For that Chianti Classico feel try this wonderful property where everything has been put together to ensure that perfection is attained.
